On April 29, 2026, Mariachi Continental de San Diego had the honor of opening for acclaimed Mexican singer Camila Fernández at the Epstein Family Amphitheater as part of UC San Diego ArtPower’s performance series.
The evening began with Mariachi Continental setting the stage with a dynamic performance celebrating the artistry, tradition, and passion of mariachi music. Following the opening set, the ensemble had the privilege of returning to the stage to accompany Camila Fernández for the concert’s final selections, creating one of the evening’s most memorable moments. As the full mariachi joined her for the finale, the collaboration showcased the power and authenticity of live mariachi performance on one of Southern California’s premier stages.
The celebration didn’t end with the final note. Following the concert, Camila Fernández remained for more than 40 minutes, graciously meeting audience members and ensuring every fan who stayed had the opportunity to take a photo with her. Her generosity and appreciation for her audience reflected the warmth and spirit that defined the entire evening.
Performing alongside one of Mexico’s rising voices was an honor for Mariachi Continental de San Diego and another example of our commitment to collaborating with leading artists while presenting authentic, world-class mariachi music.
